To me popular culture is what everyone in society like or thinks is "fab", "sexy" or in general just popular. It can be considered as many things, if people enjoy it, then more than likely it is something of popular culture. I love reality TV shows, and know a lot of people that do as well, so therefore those shows would have the title of popular culture. Abercrombie and Fitch clothing line is the fashion statement for a lot of teens, so it would have the title of popular culture. Popular culture is relevant to everyone in today's society. There are "cliques" everywhere you look, school, work, workout classes, daycare and even in jails and prisons. I work at a Juvenile Detention Center as a Detention Officer and believe it or not there are cliques there with the youth that are locked up. My career job I want to become a Probation Officer and I know that I will have to deal with popular culture with juveniles. I will have to deal with youth who are from different cultures, backgrounds and discipline. Most of the juveniles that come into my work are there for crimes they committed with another youth and sometimes with someone who is a lot older than they are. They committed the crime to fit in with the person they committed the crime with. They don't want to be made fun of or be the "loser" for common sense. My opinion popular culture will be around for ever, its everywhere and will continue to be.
